PRE-ORDER for Manannán Mac Lir – Lord of the Otherworld
Pre-order your Manannán Mac Lir medallion here – in production for completion by late December.
SPECIAL DEVOTIONAL GIFT: As part of a devotional commitment I made to Manannán, I have committed to giving away the first few batches of these medallions for free to devotees who want them. I’m starting with offering the first 27 medallions free. You can pre-order here and I’ll also ship it for free. This gift is limited to 1 per order just to prevent anyone buying them up to re-sell. You can order as gifts for friends or family, but please do not order just to re-sell; this is being offered as a devotional gift to fulfill a commitment to Manannán, and commercializing that would be quite rude and probably not result in good luck for you.
Manannán Mac Lir means Manannán Son of the Sea. A liminal, trickster-like deity associated with magic, Otherworld travel, and the Isle of Man, he is said to navigate the ocean in a ship called Wave-Sweeper, drawn by sea-foam horses, and he has a cloak that wraps him in illusions and invisibility. A lord of the Otherworld, Manannán is also master of magic and illusion and guide to the liminal ways between the land of the living and the luminous Otherworld. His name and iconography are associated with the Isle of Man, though scholars differ as to whether he is named for the Isle or the Isle is named for him. Traditionally, Manx people venerated Manannán at the Summer Solstice by pouring offerings into the sea. He also has sacred sites in the West of Ireland where he is also associated with the teaching of Druidic knowledge.
This medallion will incorporate original artwork by Morpheus Ravenna. Preview image shown here is a mock-up of the artwork to be etched; a photo of the actual medallion will be added as soon as the first run are finished.
Talisman is etched in 18-gauge copper, in your choice of 1.5″ diameter medallion, or 2″ allowing for much finer detail. Comes strung on a simple natural leather cord.
